SPS Fest!

We’re really excited about the event this year – which is three days long! – and want to make sure you’ve got a couple of important dates in your diaries. There will be many events happening during lunchtimes (we’ll tell you about them closer to the time) but the two main night time events are;

Open Mic Night

Thursday October 5th 6.30-8pm

This is a chance for anyone who wants to get up and play or sing a song (or both!), either as a soloist or in a duo, to do so in The Black Room. Any St Paul’s student from Years 7-12, and any St Paul’s staff member can participate. It will be a very informal night – not a competition – and a chance for everyone to share their music with other people.

Friday, 3.30-7pm, $10 entry (free for performers)

Who will win this year? Last year’s winners, GLXTCH, have graduated so this year it’s anyone’s game! There is a band section and a solo/duo section. If you want to enter either section, please reply to the email with the names of the people in your band and your band name for further updates.

Auditions for the SPS Fest Comp will take place in the last week of Term 3. The Music Centre is open during lunchtimes for bands to rehearse. See a Music Captain or myself for details and to book practice rooms.

If you’ve got any questions please don’t hesitate to ask me or the Music Captains. Happy practising!
